Bringing Hay to South Dakota
South Dakota does require certified weed free hay. If
you are traveling to South Dakota, check with the South
Dakota Trail Riders Web site at www.venturecomm.net/~ckshryock/ or
Barb at 605-342-1711 if you want to pick your hay up out
there.
Brand Inspections Required
All horses and mules that are brought over the Missouri
River into western SD must have brand inspections.
If you
do not have a permanent brand certificate, you need to
have with you a Health Certificate, Proof of Ownership,
and a
Negative Coggins Report.
Contact the SD Stockgrowers Association Brand Office at
605-343-2660 for a brand inspector in the area you plan
to camp and ride.
