Primary purpose. The primary purpose
of the Minnesota Trail Riders Association is to promote recreational,
equestrian trail riding. By the:
1. Distribution of trail riding information,
2. Promotion, development, and maintenance of trails,
3. Coordination of, and cooperation with, governmental agencies and private individuals.
We distribute trail-riding information by publishing 6
newsletters during the riding season. We will be happy
to publish information about your organized trail ride free and
ask that you submit your ride information on the Trail Ride Information
form 2 months prior to your ride.
MTRA promotes and helps develop horse facilities, trails
and campgrounds. Our annual survey of all public horse
facilities is designed to determine the financial, information
and volunteer needs of all horse facilities throughout the state
for the current year and the following year. Horse facilities
have requested much more assistance from us than we have been
able to respond to.
We work with public governmental agencies and private
individuals to assist them to continue to provide recreational
facilities thru our donations, volunteer work groups and attending
public meetings to communicate the needs of users.
The needs far exceed our resources. We need your help!! You
can help by joining MTRA and volunteering time and labor to a nearby
or favorite horse facility. Due to all the budget cuts, users must
get involved now more than ever. Over 50% of membership dues are
donated to improve, maintain and develop horse facilities throughout
the state. We have donated $147,549 to horse facilities since 1993
(50% of our total income or of your membership dues). Please consider
joining MTRA and supporting our group! |
