Minnesota Trail Riders Association is a
grassroots, non-profit equestrian organization which:
Promotes trail-riding opportunities: Since 1979,
we have been a source of information on all aspects of trail riding
in Minnesota and surrounding areas. We publish this information
at no cost to the sponsoring organizations. So yes, you can promote
your group's ride for free! You will also find general information
about places to ride on your own on our web page or in our Newsletter.
Advertisements from trail-friendly sponsors are included in our
Newsletter.
Advocates for equestrian campgrounds and trails: MTRA
is active in trail and campground development and support. We have
a long record of actively cooperating with state and local governmental
agencies for the preservation of the right to use horses for recreation
on public lands. From 1993 through 2005, MTRA contributed over
$147,000 to trail and camp improvements and maintenance. An average
of 50% of our income including your membership fees went towards
trail development.
Fosters communication among trail riders: MTRA
is a family-focused "grassroots" organization governed by a Board
of Directors elected from the membership, and statewide participation
is encouraged. During the riding season, Board meetings are held
at the Membership rides. These weekends provide a wonderful opportunity
to meet new friends, renew old acquaintances, and enjoy trail riding!
As a non-profit 501-C- (3) corporation, we welcome your
donations, membership and participation! |
