Emergency Procedures
In the event of injury or other emergency, remember the following guidelines:
1.  Don't panic. Remain calm.
2.  Determine your location.
3.  Locate the nearest rescue point. (Zumbro Bottoms has rescue points marked.)
4.  Send someone familiar with the area for help.
5.  Call 911 - be sure dispatcher understands where you are so rescuers can be directed to you.
6.  Wait at location you told dispatcher you were.
7.  Be able to lead rescuers to the accident.
8.  Keep victim in one spot and still until rescuers arrive.
9.  Do not transport victim yourself!!!

Example rescue point sign (Zumbro Bottoms):

This is
Rescue
Point
"A"

Rescue points have been established at several locations along the trail system. In the event of an emergency, when you talk to the 911 dispatcher, tell him you will meet the rescuers at this rescue point.

Remember this is a remote area and that the rescuers are all volunteers so it may take a while for them to reach you. The better location description you can give, the faster the response time will be.
