State Parks
Horse campground campsites added to state park reservation system.

Trail riders who want to guarantee a camping spot for themselves and their horses will now be able to ensure their overnight stay at three Minnesota State Parks: Forestville/Mystery Cave in Preston, Lake Louise in Le Roy, and Upper Sioux Agency in Granite Falls.

In the past, campsites in the horse campground at Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park were able to be reserved through the state park reservation system. This year, sites at Lake Louise State Park and electric sites at Upper Sioux Agency State Park may also be reserved.

The reservation policy for reserving campsites in the horse campground will be the same as reservations made for the regular campground, said Guy Lunz, manager of Lake Louise State Park.

"Up to 70 percent of the sites in the horse campground at Lake Louise or Forestville can be reserved and the rest will be available on a first-come, first-served basis" Lunz said.
A non-refundable reservation fee of $8.50 will be charged for each reservation. This fee and the first night's camping fee of $12 must be paid when making a reservation.

At Upper Sioux Agency State Park's horse campground, 70 percent of the electric sites can be reserved. The balance of the electric sites and all of the non-electric sites in the horse campground at Upper Sioux are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

To reserve campsites in these horse campgrounds, call the Minnesota State Park Reservation System at 1-866-85PARKS or reserve online at www.stayatmnparks.com.
Campsites in the horse campgrounds at other state parks are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
